Launched in 2020, Empowered Girls equips rural girls — including those from pastoralist Maasai communities — with life skills, leadership development, and critical support.
Our team is made up of former participants who are now inspiring the next generation as mentors to dream bigger and rise stronger.
More About us
Empowered Girls has grown from a local initiative to a movement that has reached over 15,000 girls, implemented programs in 12 government schools, and launched initiatives in mentorship, menstrual health, life skills, entrepreneurship, climate change adaptation and resilience and gender equality.
At Empowered Girls, we believe that real transformation happens when girls are empowered from within and the world around them shifts to support their dreams. Our holistic, girl-centered approach places each girl at the center of her own journey. We build her confidence, expand her opportunities, and create safe, enabling environments for her to thrive.
Our work is delivered through three core, interconnected programs: Girls Mentorship, Girls Support, and Girls Safety. These programs are anchored in schools and communities, and are supported by a dynamic mentorship model that integrates life skills, academic support, and community engagement.
